La seconda metà di Gennaio è stata, climaticamente parlando, un mezzo flop. Nel senso che, appena dopo l’addestramento del 16 (di cui abbiamo parlato nello scorso articolo di aggiornamento), ogni giornata partiva con la nebbia e finiva con la nebbia. Tradotto, non si potevano fare addestramenti!
Quindi abbiamo dovuto aspettare quasi una settimana prima di poter riprendere col nostro programma, nel frattempo abbiamo risolto un piccolo problema riguardo all’iscrizione di alcuni colombi già presenti alla SUMMER EDITION 2021.
Purtroppo anche l’addestramento successivo è stato duro, questa edizione invernale si sta dimostrando veramente una competizione difficile, con molti novelli che sono rientrati dopo alcuni giorni! Proprio per questo motivo, e per il fatto che a livello di chilometri percorsi i colombi hanno già fatto parecchia strada, abbiamo preso la decisione di effettuare ancora un solo addestramento prima dell’inizio delle gare!
L’addestramento in questione sarà fatto a circa 60-70 km probabilmente il giorno 3 Febbraio, quindi ne riparliamo bene durante il prossimo aggiornamento! Ora veniamo ai due fatti salienti di queste ultime due settimane!
The second half of January was, climatically speaking, a half flop. In the sense that, just after the training of 16 (which we talked about in the last update article), every day started with the fog and ended with the fog. Translated, no trainings could be done!
So we had to wait almost a week before being able to resume with our program, in the meantime we have solved a small problem regarding the registration of some pigeons already present in the SUMMER EDITION 2021.
Unfortunately, the subsequent training was also tough, this winter edition is proving to be a really tough competition, with many newbies returning after a few days! Precisely for this reason, and for the fact that in terms of kilometers traveled the pigeons have already come a long way, we have made the decision to carry out just one more training before the start of the races!
The training in question will be done at around 60-70 km probably on February 3rd, so we’ll talk about it again in the next update! Now we come to the two salient facts of these last two weeks!
3º addestramento / 3rd training
Lancio programmato il giorno 23 Gennaio alle ore 11:00 da Ospedaletto Lodigiano (circa 25 km dal loft). La giornata era abbastanza buona, nonostante qualche nuvoletta e una leggera foschia.
Purtroppo, come ti abbiamo accennato poco fa, il rientro è stato più complicato del previsto. Infatti i colombi sono tornati a piccoli gruppetti (c’è sempre qualcosa che spezza il gruppo durante il volo perchè al momento della partenza era compatto) e un po’ in ritardo rispetto al nostro pronostico!
La nostra speranza era che la giornata successiva fosse caratterizzata dal bel tempo, invece è stata un’altra, l’ennesima, giornata di nebbia forte! Nonostante questo circa una decina di piccoli “eroi” sono riusciti a ritornare (incredibile come ci siano riusciti). Fortunatamente il giorno ancora successivo è stato molto bello e sono riusciti a trovare la strada di casa diversi colombi!
Comunque siamo stati costretti a tenere a riposo i novelli più giorni di quelli che avevamo programmato, anche perchè molti di loro hanno fatto davvero tanta strada, e a darci appuntamento ai primi di Febbraio per terminare gli addestramenti e iniziare con le gare!

Unfortunately, as we mentioned earlier, the return was more complicated than expected. In fact, the pigeons are back in small groups (there is always something that breaks the group during the flight because at the time of departure it was compact) and a little late compared to our forecast!
Our hope was that the next day was characterized by good weather, instead it was another, yet another, day of strong fog! Despite this, about ten little “heroes” managed to return (amazing how they managed it). Fortunately the next day was very nice and several pigeons managed to find their way home!
However, we were forced to rest the new ones for more days than we had planned, also because many of them have really come a long way, and to give us an appointment in early February to finish the training and start with the competitions!
Partecipazione dei colombi iscritti anche alla SUMMER EDITION 2021 / Participation of pigeons also registered in the SUMMER EDITION 2021
Alcuni dei partecipanti alla WINTER EDITION 2021-2022 hanno espresso esplicitamente la loro opinione riguardo alla partecipazione dei novelli già presenti all’edizione estiva del 2021, indicando come “errata” questa regola. Il motivo è molto semplice: quei colombi sono nettamente più grandi, di età, rispetto agli altri e quindi si presume siano avvantaggiati.
Ci teniamo a precisare che noi, essendo alla prima esperienza, abbiamo raccolto un po’ di informazioni e spunti da altre OLR e alcune di queste lasciavano aperte le iscrizioni anche ai colombi dell’edizione estiva precedente.
E praticamente nessun regolamento precisava che i colombi dovessero essere iscritti anche all’edizione invernale dal vecchio proprietario, infatti un qualsiasi colombofilo poteva acquistare un novello in asta, alla fine della competizione estiva, e iscriverlo a suo nome nell’edizione invernale successiva.
Il nostro regolamento indicava che il novello iscritto avesse l’anello con matricola datata 2021. Purtroppo però c’era il classico “cono d’ombra” all’interno del regolamento. Avevamo infatti indicato anche che l’età massima di ogni novello dovesse essere, al momento della consegna, di massimo 45 giorni.
Come facilmente è comprensibile le due credenziali (anello del 2021 e età massima) lasciavano, appunto, un cono d’ombra nel regolamento, cioè un punto non completamente chiaro grazie al quale un colombofilo poteva tranquillamente affermare di essere nella ragione in qualsiasi caso, chi a favore dell’apertura a tutti i colombi con anello del 2021 e chi a favore dell’età massima. La classica situazione in cui tutti hanno ragione e tutti hanno torto insomma!
Noi comunque dovevamo fare una scelta, possibilmente prima dell’inizio delle gare, e cercare di accontentare più persone possibili, se non tutte!
Per fortuna i proprietari di tali colombi sono stati molto comprensivi e ci hanno aiutato nel prendere una decisione, che è stata la seguente: i colombi iscritti alla SUMMER EDITION 2021 NON faranno classifica con il resto del gruppo e NON parteciperanno alle premiazioni della WINTER EDITION 2021-2022.
Per dimostrare la nostra buona fede, e in parte per ringraziare queste persone, abbiamo deciso di creare una speciale classifica SOLO per i colombi che già erano presenti all’edizione estiva del 2021 e di istituire una premiazione appositamente per loro (SENZA intaccare il montepremi della WINTER EDITION 2021-2022, ma sponsorizzandone uno noi).
Speriamo che tutto questo sia stato apprezzato e che ogni colombofilo partecipante possa credere ancora di più nella nostra buona fede!
Siamo giunti al termine di questo aggiornamento e anche al primo mese, molto travagliato, di questo 2022. Ti diamo appuntamento a metà Febbraio col resoconto dell’ultimo addestramento e l’inizio delle gare della WINTER EDITION 2021-2022! Some of the participants in the WINTER EDITION 2021-2022 explicitly expressed their opinion regarding the participation of the novices already present in the summer edition of 2021, indicating this rule as “wrong”. The reason is very simple: those pigeons are much older than the others and therefore it is assumed that they have an advantage.
We would like to clarify that we, being at the first experience, have collected some information and ideas from other OLRs and some of these left the registrations open also to the pigeons of the previous summer edition.
And practically no regulation specified that the pigeons had to be registered also in the winter edition by the old owner, in fact any pigeon lover could buy a new baby at auction, at the end of the summer competition, and register it in his name in the following winter edition.
Our regulation indicated that the new member had a ring with a serial number dated 2021. Unfortunately, however, there was the classic “shadow cone” within the regulation. In fact, we had also indicated that the maximum age of each new baby should be a maximum of 45 days at the time of delivery.
As is easily understandable, the two credentials (ring of 2021 and maximum age) left, in fact, a cone of shadow in the regulation, that is a point not completely clear thanks to which a pigeon lover could safely claim to be right in any case, who in favor of the opening to all pigeons with ring of 2021 and those in favor of the maximum age. The classic situation in which everyone is right and everyone is wrong in short!
However, we had to make a choice, possibly before the start of the races, and try to please as many people as possible, if not all!
Fortunately, the owners of these pigeons were very understanding and helped us in making a decision, which was the following: pigeons registered in the SUMMER EDITION 2021 will NOT rank with the rest of the group and will NOT participate in the prizes of WINTER EDITION 2021-2022.
To demonstrate our good faith, and partly to thank these people, we decided to create a special ranking ONLY for the pigeons that were already present at the SUMMER EDITION 2021 and to set up an award ceremony specifically for them (WITHOUT affecting the prize money of the WINTER EDITION 2021-2022, but by sponsoring one of us).
We hope that all of this has been appreciated and that every participating pigeon lover can believe even more in our good faith!
